Are you living with dysautonomia?
Syncope and fainting spells
Intolerant to heat and warm water
Shallow breathing and high heart rate when standing up
What is dysautonomia?
Dysautonomia is an umbrella term that simply refers to dysfunction of the nervous system. This can manifest in different ways for different people. This can make it difficult to diagnose and treat, let alone not have your symptoms dismissed as an anxiety disorder. Dysautonomia can mean that you have syncope (fainting), can mean your heart rate spikes through the roof when standing, or even that your blood pressure drops too low when standing. These symptoms are not all inclusive and dysautonomia can present in a number of ways.
Typical treatments for dysautonomia
For most that deal with dysautonomia there can be a number of conventional solutions offered. This can include things like wearing a heart monitor, anti-anxiety prescriptions, and medications to slow down the heart rate or help keep blood vessels dilated. Beyond these types of conventional treatments there isn’t much help offered to individuals suffering with these conditions, aside from being told you’ll “grow out of it” or avoiding triggers.
Natural and holistic dysautonomia treatment
At SCC Neuro, located 15 minutes from Charlotte, NC, we take a natural and holistic approach to dysautonomia. When relief hasn’t been found through the use of prescriptions and conventional treatment this is a pretty good indication for specific neurological care. We use our exam and any recommended blood or hormone testing to identify the root cause of your dysautonomia symptoms. Without the use of drugs or surgery, we actively rehabilitate your brain and nervous system. This create neuroplasticity by exposing the brain to new stimuli. This stimuli helps the brain rewire the nervous system to reduce and eliminate the frequency, severity, and duration of your dysautonomia symptoms.
I. FIND THE ROOT CAUSE
Neurological exam + any recommended blood and hormone testing.
Identifying any dysfunctional area in the brain and nervous system is a crucial piece of healthcare that is often overlooked.
II. SUPPORT
Proper identification creates a specific treatment plan to address root cause of dysfunction. We will create a plan that includes lifestyle modifications, exercises, and supplementations necessary to treat the root cause of your symptoms.
III. STABILIZE
Create lasting change in your nervous system. Our goal is to work together and help continue the work outside of your office appointments. This means continued patient education and virtual follow up appointments.
IV. PREVENT
Continue building neuroplasticity to prevent future migraines. This means continuing with recommended supplements, dietary changes, home exercises, and pursuing lifestyle and exercise modifications regularly.
